Softball Recap: Shelbyville Finds Home Field Redemption Against Columbus East

There's no place like home for Shelbyville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Columbus East Olympians by a score of 12-9 on Friday. The Golden Bears haven't had any issues with the Olympians recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Kali Laycock and Addison Stieneker did most of the damage at the plate: Laycock got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one double, while Stieneker went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Anna Shearer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Shelbyville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in nine consecutive matches.
