Basketball Game Preview: Texas Tigers vs. Nacogdoches Dragons

The Texas Tigers will head out to square off against the Nacogdoches Dragons at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Nacogdoches took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Texas, who comes in off a win.

Texas took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Whitehouse 70-50. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Wildcats are ranked 780th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Nacogdoches lost 57-34 to Hallsville on Tuesday.

Nacogdoches now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Texas, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Texas suffered a grim 67-43 defeat to Nacogdoches when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Can Texas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
