Soccer Game Preview: Lake Wales vs. Winter Haven

The Lake Wales Highlanders will challenge the Winter Haven Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Winter Haven took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Wales, who comes in off a win.

If Winter Haven heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Lake Wales took over last week. Lake Wales won by a goal and slipped past Sebring 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Highlanders.

Breanna McQuillen and Aryn Rogers scored both of Lake Wales' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Winter Haven's offense. They lost 7-0 to Victory Christian Academy on Thursday. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lake Wales' win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Winter Haven, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-1.

Everything went Lake Wales' way against Winter Haven in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, as Lake Wales made off with a 5-2 victory. Will Lake Wales repeat their success, or does Winter Haven have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
