Soccer Recap: Pioneer Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pioneer can now relate to. They fell just short of the St. Margaret's Tartans by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Tartans are ranked 109th).

Pioneer's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for St. Margaret's, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Pioneer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Margaret's, they will square off against Channel Islands at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Margaret's last five games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
