Basketball Game Preview: Reed-Custer Comets vs. Grant Park Dragons

The Reed-Custer Comets and the Grant Park Dragons will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.

On Tuesday, Reed-Custer was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-37 to Manteno. The Comets have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Grant Park came into Tuesday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 58-27 victory over Illinois Lutheran. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Dragons have posted since December 3, 2024.

Reed-Custer better keep an eye on Blake Brown. He was instrumental in Grant Park's win, going 9 for 18 on his way to 21 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Grant Park's points. Brayden Heldt was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Reed-Custer's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-15. As for Grant Park, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13.
