Staunton and Waynesboro are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Storm will head out to square off against the Little Giants at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Staunton is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Staunton came up short against Stuarts Draft on Thursday, falling 8-1.

Staunton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Neil, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Meanwhile, Waynesboro hadn't done well against Riverheads recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Little Giants put the hurt on the Gladiators with a sharp 10-1 victory. Waynesboro's win was all the more impressive since the Gladiators were averaging only 3.69 runs allowed on the season.

Waynesboro's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Staunton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Staunton came out on top in a nail-biter against Waynesboro in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
