Baseball Recap: Glen Ridge Has No Trouble Against East Side

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Glen Ridge and East Side, and Glen Ridge kept the tradition alive. The Ridgers blew past the Red Raiders 15-1 on Monday. The Ridgers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Gabe Carter and Jace Loeb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Carter pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Loeb tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Carter scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Loeb went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Carter also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Glen Ridge got a big performance out of Alex Bowman, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That run was Bowman's first of the season. Max Pace was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Glen Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Glen Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for East Side, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Glen Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Side, they will head out to take on Payne Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
