Recap: Jackson North Side Indians vs. Jackson Central Merry Cougars
This season hasn't been kind to the Jackson North Side Indians, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They were dealt a 60-31 loss at the hands of Jackson Central Merry on Friday. While losing is never fun, Jackson North Side can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Jackson Central Merry is ranked 179th).
Despite the loss, Jackson North Side still got an impressive performance from Anaiyah Bellamy, who scored eight points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikhara Robinson, who scored 11 points.
Even though they lost, Jackson North Side were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Jackson North Side bumped their record down to 0-9 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.5 points per game. As for Jackson Central Merry, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
