Bradyn Whitman posted a new career-low in walks on Monday. Malvern had no answer to Whitman as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Whitman also allowed no hits, which is notable because Strasburg-Franklin is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 7-8 otherwise.

Whitman's effort led Strasburg-Franklin over Malvern and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers are 8-1 against the Hornets going back to April of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
