Softball Recap: Newark Catholic Green Wave vs. Licking Valley Panthers
It was a good run, but Newark Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Licking Valley Panthers by a score of 6-5. Newark Catholic was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Licking Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
Kylie Gibson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Lohri, who went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Newark Catholic's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5-1. As for Licking Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-4.
