Football Recap: St. Joseph Catholic Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Joseph Catholic can now relate to. They fell just short of the Heritage Christian Eagles by a score of 44-41 on Friday. St. Joseph Catholic was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Heritage Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Peter Najvar, who picked up 54 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown. Najvar didn't just play on offense: he also made 15 total tackles and defended one pass. Another signal caller making a difference was Aidan Cruz, who threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns.
