Recap: Chillicothe Hornets vs. Winnetonka Griffins
In what's become a running theme this season, the Chillicothe Hornets gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. Everything went their way against Winnetonka as Chillicothe made off with a 54-33 win. 54 seems to be a good number for Chillicothe as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
It was another big night for Jolie Bonderer, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Kayanna Cranmer was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Chillicothe, bringing their record for this year to 12-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Winnetonka, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chillicothe's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Eagles on January 27th. Grain Valley is on a three-game streak of home wins, the Hornets a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Winnetonka, they will head out on the road to face off against the Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
