Basketball Recap: Norwood Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Norwood had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Everything went their way against the Sparta Trojans as they made off with a 63-43 win. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Autumn Gunter was a one-woman wrecking crew for Norwood as she went 6-for-10 on her way to 18 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gentry Davault, who posted seven points in addition to nine rebounds and six steals.

Norwood's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points over those games. As for Sparta, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Norwood has already played their next game, a 64-22 win against Gainesville on the 17th. Sparta has also already played their next contest (against Seymour), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
