Basketball Recap: Harford Christian Takes a Loss

If Harford Christian was feeling good fresh off their 50-18 takedown of New Life Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Harford Christian took a 34-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mount Airy Christian Academy on Thursday. Harford Christian hasn't had much luck with Mount Airy Christian Academy recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Mount Airy Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Avery Witter out in front who went 7-for-15 en route to 16 points along with six steals and three blocks. Witter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Apolenis, who posted five points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.

Harford Christian's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Harford Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, they will square off against Redeemer Classical Christ at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
