Basketball Game Preview: Tharptown Wildcats vs. Tremont Eagles

The Tharptown Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Tremont Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tharptown will be strutting in after a win while Tremont will be coming in after a loss.

Tharptown's tournament run continued when they took on Cherokee on Tuesday. The Wildcats snuck past the Indians with a 39-34 victory.

Meanwhile, Tremont played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Potts Camp 68-29. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-14.

Tharptown will have to contain Nathan Crenshaw as he made an impact in Tremont's last game. He almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine steals. Tremont is 3-1 when Crenshaw posts three or more steals, but 0-4 otherwise. Cooper Platt was another key player, putting up eight points along with 11 boards and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Tremont and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Tharptown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.
