Basketball Recap: Southeastern Christian Academy Falls to Cape Fear Academy in First Game of Season

Southeastern Christian Academy had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Cape Fear Academy Hurricanes, falling 67-41. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hurricanes from their previous meeting back in January.

Despite the loss, Southeastern Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Angelina Lauver dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Ella Gregory, who posted 11 points and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Cape Fear Academy and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeastern Christian Academy will host Wake Christian Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Cape Fear Academy, they will welcome SouthLake Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
