Softball Recap: Valley View Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Valley View took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Eaton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Spartans won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 8-7. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Eagles on Wednesday, they had to take a 11-0 loss.

The team relied heavily on Emily Woodward, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brelynn Riley, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Valley View's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-15. As for Eaton, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-6.

Looking ahead, Valley View will be playing in front of their home fans against Wilmington at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Eaton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
