Softball Recap: Houston Takes a Loss

Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 10-1 to the St. Benedict at Auburndale Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 two weeks ago.

Houston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylea Howell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Houston and St. Benedict at Auburndale will both be playing Tipton-Rosemark Academy the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
