Baseball Recap: Prospect Panthers vs. Live Oak Acorns
Prospect proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Live Oak Acorns. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 4-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Kevin-Joseph Rieden made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Prospect's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 7-1 (and 7-8 when he doesn't). Rieden was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Prospect has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games.
