Baseball Recap: Sutton Comes Up Short

Sutton blew Blackstone-Millville out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Blackstone-Millville got their revenge. The Sammies/Suzies fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 4-2. The Sammies/Suzies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 12-1.

Sutton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dante Yantin, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Andrew Cloutier also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Sutton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Blackstone-Millville, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 2-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sutton will challenge Douglas at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Blackstone-Millville, they will face off against Keefe Tech at 4:30 p.m. on the 20th.
