Soccer Game Preview: Rogers vs. Northside

The Rogers Mountaineers will head out on the road to challenge the Northside Grizzlies at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Rogers is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arkansas' top teams: Rogers Heritage, who was ranked 14th at the time (Rogers was ranked tenth). The Mountaineers skirted past the War Eagles 1-0. The win continues a trend for Rogers in their matchups with Rogers Heritage: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Northside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Springdale, falling 3-0.

Rogers' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2-3. As for Northside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Rogers was able to grind out a solid win over Northside when the teams last played back in March, winning 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mountaineers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
