Softball Recap: Vestavia Hills Rebels vs. Central Red Devils
Vestavia Hills extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 11-18-1 in the process. They lost 9-1 to the Central Red Devils. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2021.
As for Central, the win was the 21st in a row for them, bringing their record up to 38-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.
For Central's part, Allyson Supan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Supan has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
