Basketball Recap: West Central Wins Going Away Against Demotte Christian

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Central had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the DeMotte Christian Knights as they made off with a 59-33 win. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Madisyn DeMoss, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. What's more, she also racked up four steals, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Kailee Bishop was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

West Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as DeMotte Christian only racked up seven assists.

When it comes to explaining why DeMotte Christian lost, don't look at Claire Bakker. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. Bakker is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last seven games she's played.

West Central's victory bumped their record up to 15-8. As for DeMotte Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 18-6 record.

West Central will challenge Tri-County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tri-County's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so West Central's offense will have their work cut out for them. DeMotte Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
