Baseball Recap: Tahoka Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ropes, Tahoka was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Smyer Bobcats. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Bobcats back in March, they had to take a 15-5 loss.

Brogan Stone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Tahoka is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Tahoka let Cayden Gutierrez and Dante Garcia run wild. Gutierrez went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Garcia got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Tahoka now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Smyer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.

As of now, neither Tahoka nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
