Ashley fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against South Brunswick on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the South Brunswick Cougars by a score of 63-61. One positive for the Screaming Eagle, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Ashley lost, don't look at Jaeden Hudson. Despite the final result, she posted 30 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Hudson a new career-high in points. Chloe Laverty also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Brunswick to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubree Adams, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Adams is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Adyson Bell, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds.

Ashley is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10. As for South Brunswick, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Ashley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-34 loss against Topsail on the 29th. As for South Brunswick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-20 defeat against Hoggard on the 29th.
