While Winters might've come up empty on Wednesday, Jordan Calvert wasn't going down without a fight. Gridley had no answer to Calvert as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Calvert has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
