Recap: Desert Pines Jaguars vs. Arbor View Aggies
On Monday, the Desert Pines Jaguars faced the Arbor View Aggies in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Desert Pines fell 68-61 to the Aggies. While losing is never fun, Desert Pines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Aggies are ranked third).
Pharaoh Compton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Arbor View, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. Compton is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 13 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maximus Romero, who scored 15 points along with five assists and two steals.
Desert Pines has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Arbor View, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Desert Pines will challenge the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Las Vegas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday. As for Arbor View, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Rattlers at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Mojave focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Monday.
