Basketball Recap: Denmark-Olar Takes a Loss

Denmark-Olar had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 4-14 to make it four. They took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Despite the loss, Denmark-Olar still got an impressive performance from Christian Rivera, who posted 27 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards. Rivera's evening made it 18 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was William Ross, who had five points and nine rebounds.

As for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt found their leader in freshman Nasir Singleton, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 18 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Cann, who scored nine points.

Denmark-Olar has already played their next game, a 52-46 victory against Hardeeville on the 13th. As for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-33 win against Royal Live Oaks Academy on the 13th.
