Volleyball Recap: Leon Comes Up Short

Leon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mater Lakes Academy Bears. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Riley Knipple paced Leon's offense, picking up seven kills. Knipple also shared the team's lead in assists with Riley Perezluha: they picked up eight each.

Leon's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Mater Lakes Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.

Leon has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against DME Academy on the 4th. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Academy of the Holy Names on the 4th.
