Soccer Recap: Ventura Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Ventura Cougars didn't have quite enough to beat the Pacifica Tritons and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 390th, while the Tritons are ranked 41st).

Ventura has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-2 record this season. As for Pacifica, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1-3.

Ventura will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Rio Mesa at 6:45 p.m. Ventura's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Pacifica, they are taking a road trip to face off against Dos Pueblos at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
