Softball Recap: Chapel Hill Takes a Loss

Chapel Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 8-5 to the Temple Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-8 on Thursday.

Shelby Dickens and Jayda Young stepped up to the plate in a big way. Dickens went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Young went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Dickens has brought in this season. Taryn Stewart was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Temple, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Chapel Hill will square off against Hart County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Temple, they will challenge Whitefield Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
