Basketball Recap: Kerr-Vance Academy Takes a Loss

Kerr-Vance Academy played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders, falling 77-29. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-15.

M.J. Wright was Kerr-Vance Academy's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Rakia Terry held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Leading Harrells Christian Academy to victory were Antonio Mckoy and Zicareian Mcneil. Mckoy went 10 for 14 en route to 21 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Mcneil went 8 of 16 on his way to 19 points in addition to six assists and five steals. The game was Mckoy's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amir Moore, who posted eight points along with nine boards and four blocks.

Kerr-Vance Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.

Kerr-Vance Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-33 loss against Rocky Mount Academy on the 16th. Harrells Christian Academy has also already played their next match, a 73-30 win against Halifax Academy on the 16th.
