The McDowell Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the General McLane Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. McDowell will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
McDowell lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Meadville, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's matchup. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Bulldogs on Wednesday. Considering the Trojans have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Gabriella Deluca was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Alexandra Smith was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Emma Mickel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
McDowell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive games.
Meadville hit General McLane with a five-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lancers came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 12-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Lancers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.
General McLane's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for McDowell, their record now sits at 9-1.
Everything went McDowell's way against General McLane when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as McDowell made off with an 18-3 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
