Volleyball Recap: Pacific Ridge Comes Up Short

Pacific Ridge and Carlsbad squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Pacific Ridge had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

While Pacific Ridge ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 21-25, 25-23, 25-17.

Pacific Ridge has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season. As for Carlsbad, they pushed their record up to 23-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Pacific Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carlsbad, they will take on Academy of Our Lady of Peace at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
