Recap: Arickaree Bison vs. Bethune Bobcats

The Arickaree Bison can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They really took it to Bethune for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-25 victory on the road. Given Arickaree's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Bethune is ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arickaree got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was AUSTIN WRIGHT out in front who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. WRIGHT continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of NICHOLAS HERMES, who scored 17 points along with three steals.

Despite the loss, Bethune still got an impressive performance from Ty Morris, who scored 13 points. That was a full 52% of Bethune's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Bethune struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Arickaree racked up 12 assists.

Arickaree's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.78 points. As for Bethune, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Arickaree will head out on the road to take on Lone Star at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lone Star is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Bethune won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pikes Peak Christian at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Pikes Peak Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
