Baseball Recap: James F. Byrnes Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

J.L. Mann typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday James F. Byrnes proved too difficult a challenge. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Patriots a 1-0 shutout. For the Rebels, this counts as revenge for the 6-3 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Not much got past Connor Crenshaw, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep J.L. Mann off the board. Crenshaw has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, James F. Byrnes' win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caine Rogers, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

James F. Byrnes has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season. As for J.L. Mann, they moved to 18-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither James F. Byrnes nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
