Softball Game Preview: Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes vs. Wrightstown Tigers

Fox Valley Lutheran and Wrightstown are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Foxes will welcome the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fox Valley Lutheran is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Monday, Fox Valley Lutheran got the win against Waupaca by a conclusive 14-3. The Foxes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Paige Leavitt made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Madison Babcock was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Adele Depner, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Fox Valley Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Wrightstown finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They came up short against Southern Door, falling 12-2. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Wrightstown's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Fox Valley Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 19-0 with the victory, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything went Fox Valley Lutheran's way against Wrightstown in their previous meeting back in April, as Fox Valley Lutheran made off with a 10-2 win. Do the Foxes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
