Canon-McMillan was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Baldwin on Wednesday. The Big Macs blew past the Highlanders 7-1. The Big Macs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

M.J. Maruschak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Canon-McMillan let Massimo Falconi and Nico Patragas run wild. Falconi went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Patragas got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Canon-McMillan is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Baldwin, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Coming up, Canon-McMillan will take on Bethel Park at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Black Hawks will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Big Macs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Baldwin, they will challenge Trinity at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
