Softball Game Preview: Weed Cougars vs. Fall River Bulldogs

Weed is on an 11-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Fall River a nine-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Weed Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fall River Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Weed and Trinity, and Trinity kept the tradition alive. The Cougars lost 19-4 to the Wolves on Friday.

Maci Phillips made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Hughes, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Fall River came up short against Etna on Friday, falling 15-5. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly ten runs.

Olivia Peterson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Alexa Iniguez also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Fall River's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Weed, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19-1.
