Basketball Recap: Maple Hill Takes a Loss

Maple Hill was the 44-43 winner over Duanesburg when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Maple Hill Wildcats fell 58-47 to the Duanesburg Eagles on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Eagles are ranked 84th).

Maple Hill's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Duanesburg, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.

Coming up, Maple Hill won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rensselaer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Duanesburg, they will head out to square off against Fonda-Fultonville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Fonda-Fultonville has won four straight at home, while Duanesburg won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
