Softball Recap: Canyon Lake Has No Trouble Against Comfort

Canyon Lake lost to Comfort back in February of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. Canyon Lake blew past the Comfort Bobcats/Deer 10-2.

The team relied heavily on Cheyenne Fields, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Marley Christian, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Canyon Lake is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. Comfort is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Canyon Lake will be playing at home against Blanco at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blanco will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Canyon Lake surely won't give up without a fight. Comfort has already played their next matchup (against St. Anthony), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
