Manziel named U.S. Air Force Player of the Week

Tivy (Kerrville, Texas) quarterback Johnny Manziel, a University of Oregon recruit, threw an incredible 75 passes while completing 41 of them for 503 yards and four touchdowns during a 39-34 victory over talented Madison (San Antonio, Texas) on Sept. 9. Manziel also ran for 78 yards and one touchdown, having a hand (or foot) in all but one of his team's 582 yards.

Manziel was at it again on Friday against Steele (Cibolo, Texas). All he did was complete 34 of 42 passes (15 completions in a row) for 428 yards and six touchdowns, in addition to running for 130 yards and two additional touchdowns. He accounted for all but 14 of Tivy's 572 yards. Last week he attempted a state-record 75 passes.
