Jimtown takes loss despite strong efforts from Kylie Wiegand and Justyce Williams

Recap: Jimtown Jimmies vs. Fremont Eagles

The Jimtown Jimmies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell to Fremont 39-34. Jimtown lost against Fremont in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 39-25 score last time.

Despite the defeat, Jimtown had strong showings from Justyce Williams, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Kylie Wiegand, who scored 13 points. The match was Williams' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Garretson, who scored three points.

Jimtown bumped their record down to 7-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Fremont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jimtown will take on South Bend Clay at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. South Bend Clay is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Fremont, they will be playing at home against Churubusco at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
