Football Recap: Redington Huskies vs. Homer Mariners
Redington and Homer pushed the score to 56-46 the last time they played Homer, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Huskies came up short against the Mariners, falling 26-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Huskies' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Homer can attribute much of their success to Nik Macauly, who rushed for 68 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Mariners also got a significant boost from Cj Burns, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.
Redington's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Homer, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Redington is set to square off against their familiar foe Barrow at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Homer will face off against rival Houston at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
