Canutillo posted their closest victory since October 18, 2024 on Friday. They won by a set and slipped past the Burges Mustangs 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Canutillo was led to victory by Sophia Ontiveros and Hailey Pedregon. Ontiveros had five digs and two aces, while Pedregon had 12 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Pedregon a new career-high.

Canutillo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Burges, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
