Basketball Recap: Cocoa Comes Up Short

Cocoa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers, falling 59-33. The match marked Cocoa's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kylie Green, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Leila Bryant, who went 8 of 20 en route to 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Cocoa's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-5.

Cocoa has already played their next contest, a 39-26 defeat against Lake Mary on the 4th. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they will host Windermere Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Windermere Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matchups -- so hopefully Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy likes a good challenge.
