Softball Game Preview: Enka Jets vs. East Lincoln Mustangs

The Enka Jets will challenge the East Lincoln Mustangs on Tuesday. Enka is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 22 games.

Enka is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past South Rowan 6-5.

Meanwhile, East Lincoln's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They put the hurt on Hibriten with a sharp 9-0 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by nine runs or more this season.

East Lincoln let Lyla Haywood and Taniyah Thomas run wild. Haywood went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Thomas went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Thomas has posted since back in March.

East Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Enka, their record now sits at 22-1.

Enka couldn't quite finish off East Lincoln in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 and fell 2-0. Can the Jets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
