Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Wins Going Away Against Edmund Burke Academy

Trinity Christian extended their postseason success on Friday against Edmund Burke Academy. They were the clear victor by a 65-41 margin over the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans. The Crusaders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leila Eastmead, who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Eastmead is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Palmer, who scored nine points and seven boards.

Trinity Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points over those games. Edmund Burke Academy's loss dropped their record down to 23-4.

Coming up, Trinity Christian will face off against Brentwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brentwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season. Edmund Burke Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
