Volleyball Recap: Tampa Bay HEAT Takes a Loss

Tampa Bay HEAT came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Tampa Prep Terrapins. The defeat continues a trend for Tampa Bay HEAT in their meetings with Tampa Prep: they've now lost five in a row.

While Tampa Bay HEAT ultimately came up short, they really made Tampa Prep work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 28-26, 25-17.

Hayden Grossman paced Tampa Bay HEAT's offense, picking up ten kills. Grossman really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 16. Anika Lutrell controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Tampa Bay HEAT's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Tampa Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Tampa Bay HEAT will challenge Academy of the Holy Names at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tampa Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
