Softball Preview: Parish Episcopal Panthers vs. Hockaday Daisies

The Parish Episcopal Panthers will head out to face off against the Hockaday Daisies at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Parish Episcopal will be strutting in after a win while Hockaday will be coming in after a loss.

Parish Episcopal took an 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Prestonwood Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lions 3-2.

Olivia Waterhouse ?28 was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). Waterhouse ?28 was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Phoenix Jordan ?29 was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Adelia DeFriend ?28, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hockaday unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Pantego Christian on Thursday, falling 15-3.
